- What does it mean when a guy calls me hun?

It means nothing really, unless additional words and actions are said and or done before, along with or followed up with being called hun. It could just be a girls way of calling people “dude” like a term of endearment.
It means nothing usually. Many people from the south say hun or sweety. That being said, I don’t usually say it unless I’m feeling someone out. Hun/hon is just a term of endearment like we call other men dude.
Positive reinforcement – if he calls you something else, like your name, etc, respond really well to that, smile big, etc. He will get it or at least say “why don’t you perk up like that when I call you hun?” Then you can say, “Cuz I don’t really like it [insert reason here.].Use humor – Call him Mr.
This is a guy’s way of hitting on you! If a guy wants things to be a little more romantic, he’ll start calling you “honey” as a means to show you how he feels. Usually, when you are in a long term relationship, guys will switch from this pet name to another on the list.
It is not proper for strangers to refer to others as “sweetie,” “honey” or “hun.” Those terms are to be used by those who are in more intimate relationships, such as boyfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife, grandparents to grandchildren, or by close friends, such as long-time female bridge players.
Honey is a word that’s typically used between couples, but rarely by strangers. It’s far more common to hear the word hun used when someone you don’t know is talking to you, in much the same way as luv – “what can I get you, hun?”
