AAA’s basic membership is comparable to AARP’s roadside assistance membership. However, AAA is a travel company as much as an automobile one, so it offers additional perks that are exclusive to travel. AARP is for retirees, people over the age of 55, and costs $16/year per family. AAA is an organization people who drive a car, regardless of age, and has a cost of ~$50 for a primary member with additional costs for each associate member.
