Does Montag kill Beatty in the book?
First, Beatty accuses Montag of being a traitor outside his own home, but Montag grabs the flamethrower and turns it on his captain. In the book, he kills Beatty — in part, because Beatty wants to be killed — but in the movie, Montag lets him live.
