The Battle of Xandar, also known as the War of Xandar, was the height of the Kree-Nova War, when Ronan the Accuser, fueled by rage and resentfulness at the Kree-Nova peace treaty and his personal hatred against the Nova Empire, launched a blitzkrieg attempt by using his entire army of Sakaarans to bomb the planet’s
The Ultimate version of Ronan the Accuser is the son of Thanos, and is a part of his empire. He is ultimately defeated by the Thing. In the series Hunger, another version of Ronan called Ro-Nan is married to Esa-La and have a son named Dra-ta.
Ronan’s motivation is pretty simple. The Kree Empire signed a ceasefire with the Nova Empire and ended a thousand year long bitter conflict that, at a guess, would have at its tamest made Napoleonic Wars look like a gentleman’s disagreement.
Impact on the Galaxy Four years after his death, Thanos ironically fulfilled Ronan’s desire to completely destroy the Nova Empire when he invaded Xandar, killing all of the Nova Corps in the process before retrieving the Orb.
The Xandarians had signed a peace treaty with the Kree Empire, ending a war between the two sides. However, Kree fanatic Ronan the Accuser used an Infinity Stone to attack Xandar in retaliation for the death of his father and forefathers.
Because Gamora’s love for her sister and wanting them to be true “sisters” was more important than her loyalty to Thanos. When she learned what Thano’s does to Earth and the galaxy in the future, her conscience for doing the right thing still came through.
If you noticed from the movie, the scene where Ronan grabs the Power Stone (the Infinity Stone in the Orb) he almost succumbed to its destructive power, because while he is a Kree, he couldn’t withstand all of its power. BUT, he managed to attached the stone to his hammer.
Technically, Ronan is stronger than Thanos when Ronan had the Infinity Stone (Power). However, just as in the original Infinity Gauntlet storyline, it would only take one meeting for Thanos to remove the Infinity Stone from Ronan’s person.
Xandar first appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy. The Xandarians had signed a peace treaty with the Kree Empire, ending a war between the two sides. However, Kree fanatic Ronan the Accuser used an Infinity Stone to attack Xandar in retaliation for the death of his father and forefathers.
The Destruction of Xandar was a cataclysmic event caused by Ultron, who used the power of the Infinity Stones to destroy Xandar and its entire population.
Pre-Ragnarok Thor may be able to defeat him but it would be difficult since he is fighting an Infinity Stone. His best bet would be to use Mjolnir and his lighting at a distance as if he gets hit by Ronan’s hammer, he could be in big trouble.
This time around, it is Zoe Saldana who has been sharing a new look at the character of Gamora, who will clearly be back for Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 despite the character previously being sacrificed by Thanos during Avengers: Infinity War.
Ronan did so in defiance of Thanos so he clearly doesn’t fear him. With his hammer, probably even without the Power Stone attached, Ronan would likely defeat Thanos in combat.
The Massacre of the Xandarians was an immense slaughter orchestrated by Thanos to obtain the Power Stone. Thanos arrived on Xandar where he proceeded to wipe out half of the Xandarians and obtained the Stone, which had been under protection by the Nova Corps.
The Reality Stone (Aether) At the end of the movie, two Asgardians give the Reality Stone to The Collector because apparently they can’t keep the Space Stone and Reality Stone in the same room in Asgard.
As seen in Agents of SHIELD, Kree warriors will inhale/ingest the Odium, which provides them with extreme amounts of inhuman power and rage, before finally killing them. This makes them incredibly overpowered, but it’s a short-lived experience.
Xandar was the birthplace of the Nova Corps, and has suffered from many destructive sieges. Xandar was almost completely destroyed by the Luphomoid Zorr the Conqueror, but was saved by the timely intervention of Uatu the Watcher. Later still Nebula destroyed the planet, massacring the Xandarians and the Nova Corps.

Saldaña discovered her love of dance in the Dominican Republic, then enrolled in the ECOS Espacio de Danza Academy studying forms of dance, but describes ballet as her passion. Her dance training and her acting experience helped her land her first film role, playing ballet student Eva Rodriguez in Center Stage (2000).

In the Comics, Thor has feats where he has destroyed worlds but the MCU Thor has yet to show he has that kind of power. Ronan wins this fight.
Awakened Thor would defeat Ronan easily. His lightning knocked out Hela. The same Hela who was growing too powerful for Prime Odin to control.
