The first ruler of the gods was Uranus, the personification of the sky. He was married to Gaia, the goddess of the earth. Uranus had twelve children with Gaia. After a prophecy that his children would overthrow him, the original ruler of the world hid his children inside their mother (earth).
ZeusZeus is the Olympian god of the sky and the thunder, the king of all other gods and men, and, consequently, the chief figure in Greek mythology. The son of Cronus and Rhea, he is probably most famous for his infidelity to his sister and wife, Hera.

The true God, i.e. the Holy Trinity, was revealed to the world by Jesus at his baptism. Jesus also taught us with his words to glorify equally the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Certainly then, the most important divine characteristics are that God is one in nature but three in persons.
