To immediately kill spiders, spray them with either a chemical-based commercial formula, or a homemade mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Or you could, er, squash them.

Even if hairspray does not immediately kill the spider, it will immobilize it so that you can kill it. When applied to a spider, this hardening substance would make a spider unable to move, paralyzing it. Eventually, the spider will die of starvation as it would be unable to feed on its prey.
