Sasuke needed to get rid of Naruto in order to clear himself of his humanity. By the end of Shippūden, Sasuke wanted to become a Hokage that controls everything and takes hate from everyone around him. The only way he was going to do that was to kill his only equal. Naruto would be the only person to stop Sasuke.
Naruto had become obsessed with finding a way to save Sasuke. Sasuke had drenched himself in so much blood and revenge that he could barely see anything else. Their conflicts culminated in a final, epic fight. Not only would it deal with their feelings, but it would finally prove which one of them was stronger.

Its quite simple acully Sasuke wanted to kill his brother because his brother Itachi killed their whole clan only remaning him. Considering you didn’t watch pre-shippuden Sasuke always looked up to his brother and wanted to be like him and then Itachi decided to kill the whole clan.
Sasuke wouldn’t be able to live with himself (guilt), and no one would be able to live with the fact that Sasuke killed Naruto. Sasuke would finally be in complete darkness, all alone. Sakura would give up on him, because he killed someone very close to her, so she might struggle with guilt feelings too.
Sasuke will not get his arm back, he does not want it back. Sasuke’s missing arm is penance for his past crimes, punishment for the many lives he has destroyed and taken while on his path of darkness, and a reminder of why he is now on a mission of atonement.
Since Itachi was on a mission to collect Intel about akatsuki personally assigned by sarutobi,he cannot train his brother with love and affection, so Itachi wished to develope hatred in Sasuke to make him stronger to beat akatsuki.
Despite the hype surrounding the first encounter between Naruto and Sasuke, its outcome was fairly predictable. In a matter of seconds, Sasuke defeated the knucklehead ninja and put him at his mercy.
For Orochimaru, Itachi knew that he was quite weak and that Sasuke was quite capable to tackle him. He had full trust in Sasuke’s power. Itachi could also have considered taking Sasuke’s eyes after his death to gain extra power to execute his personal plans.
Orochimaru was a perfect teacher for Naruto! Naruto would have learned the rasenshuriken and possible a much stronger version of it. Naruto would have a jutsu similar to a literal tornado—just like Sasuke has Kirin. Naruto wouldn’t be as outgoing, smiley, or goofy.
Izumi was deeply in love with Itachi, so much so that she accepted Itachi’s decision to end her life for the sake of the village, and was grateful to be given the life she wanted with him: growing old and having kids together, even if it was only a genjutsu.
Naruto’s body, however, is already unstable with two different chakra in him, and the chakra of the Nine-tails is as dangerous as it is powerful. So in my opinion if he’d gotten a curse mark, his body would’ve been too overpowered and on not being able to take in so much power, he’d have died.
