Dragons are connected their rider, trumping any other connections even if its their mother. This means that since Rhaegal accepted Jon as his rider, Jon and Rhaegal will have the stronger bond even over that of Rhaegal’s bond with Dany.
Jon wanted to make sure that Drogon did not get hurt from the wights who were coming at them from all sides. Also he wanted to take a chance and see if the Night King comes to fight him so the he could end everything.
Tyrion was believed to be the youngest son of Tywin and Joanna, two cousins within House Lannister. During Aerys’ reign, Tywin, the Head of House Lannister, served as the Hand of the King. Despite the evidence, Tyrion was never revealed to be a secret Targaryen, at least in the TV series.
For imprinting, it’s based on a Targaryen child having an egg, bonding with that egg through pre-hatching contact/proximity, and that egg hatching and the resulting dragon imprinting on the Targaryen child.
