-42 MM now 44 MM. Yes. You can use all the Bands you bought with the new Watch Series 4.
The 44mm Apple Watch is the largest Apple Watch version to date, replacing the 42mm versions on the Apple Watch Series 1 through Apple Watch Series 3. This model is the one with more official bands available.
The previous bands that fit the 40mm Apple Watch Series 6 will fit the Series 7, and the 44mm bands will fit the new 45mm size. Remember, since all bands will be compatible with the new Apple Watch, there’s no reason to wait till the Apple Watch Series 7 launches to buy new bands if you’re looking for a new look.
Answer: A: You can match this band with any Apple Watch Series 4 case of the same size. It also works with all previous versions of Apple Watch, including Apple Watch Series 3. The 40mm band works with the 38mm case, the 44mm band works with the 42mm case.
The 45mm bands will work with Apple Watch models that have 42mm or 44mm cases. In case you didn’t know, they’re compatible only with Apple Watch SE, the Series 4, and newer models.
Answer: A: No. 40mm bands will fit 38mm Series 3 and earlier, 44mm bands will fit 42mm Series 3 and earlier.
Yes, it does. It is just slightly smaller than the watch, but it latches normally. The 42 will also fit the 40, there is just a slight overlap of the band.
he original question was would a 42 mm band work in a 40 mm watch. YES, it will WORK as in the band will fit and properly lock into place, but as the 42mm band is designed for the wider body watch, the ends of the lugs will poke out on either side of the watch.
“You can match most bands with any Apple Watch Series 3 or newer case of the same size. The Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop bands are only compatible with Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 or newer. The 40mm and 41mm cases work with band sizes 1–9, the 44mm and 45mm cases works with band sizes 4–12.”
Place the case shape on your wrist where you would normally have the watch face, then wrap the paper tool tightly around your wrist. (If it helps, use some tape to hold the wider part in place.) Make sure the tool feels snug and doesn’t slide around. The number the arrows point to is your band size.
As advised in my previous reply, a 38mm band is not designed to fit a 42mm Apple Watch. Nor is a 42mm band designed to fit a 38mm Apple Watch.
