She was fatally stabbed by Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash and her murder was pinned on Henry who was subsequently sent to prison. 15 years following her death, Barry learned of Eobard’s identity as a disguised Harrison Wells and confronted him before Eobard was erased from the timeline by his ancestor.
Dr. Wells did indeed kill Barry’s mother — a mystery Barry has been investigating since the show’s beginning. But Wells never meant to kill Nora Allen: he went back in time to kill Barry, but he failed and Nora was a casualty.
Laying the real talk on the titular hero, Thawne (as we’ll be referring to him throughout the rest of the piece) bluntly states that he killed Nora Allen because of his hatred for Barry, or rather an older version of Barry.
Posing as Wells, Eobard mentored the Flash and became the leader of a team that he assembled to stop the meta-human threats, to increase his protégé’s speed so that Eobard could use the hero’s connection to the Speed Force to return to his own time.
Boiling with anger thought of another way which could change the event in such manner that, Barry Allen never gets his power. Reverse Flash believed that the shock of his mom dying would prevent Barry Allen from becoming the flash, So he killed her.
ThawneHe was unable to alter Barry’s transformation into the Flash, however, as that would effectively erase himself from existence. Instead, Thawne decides to ruin Barry’s life during the latter’s childhood, killing his mother, Nora.
