How many days am I allowed to work in a row? According to California Law, California employees are allowed at least one (1) day off out of every seven (7) days.
The CJEU said the two-day rest period could be provided at any time within each 7-day period. Therefore, in principle, the Directive allows a worker to work up to 12 consecutive days if the weekly rest period is granted on the first day of the first seven-day period and the last day of the following seven-day period.
You can’t work more than 48 hours a week on average – normally averaged over 17 weeks. This law is sometimes called the ‘working time directive’ or ‘working time regulations’. You can choose to work more by opting out of the 48-hour week. If you’re under 18, you can’t work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week.
