LEDs, especially cheap LEDs (including most bulbs), tend to be very inconsistent in color. This is because the manufacturer does not tightly control binning, or separating LED batches by slight variations in color. Sacrificing binning cuts cost, but also consistency in light color.

If the bad section fails to light with one of the colours, it’s dead. If the bad section instead lights with a different colour, then there’s a short. This different colour will be the product of the two circuits shorted together and will either be cyan, yellow or magenta.
